I went on a 2,000-person NUDE cruise – here’s what it was really like aboard the ship

An older traveler shared his experience aboard a clothing-optional cruise he took with his wife, describing it as more relaxed and structured than many people might expect.

The ship carried around 2,000 passengers and followed a normal cruise schedule. The main difference was that once the ship left port, an announcement allowed guests to remove their clothing in permitted areas. Before docking again, everyone was required to dress.

He emphasized that the environment was calm and respectful rather than sexual. Many passengers were experienced with nudist settings, and the overall atmosphere felt relaxed and non-pressured.

The crowd tended to be older, often in their fifties through seventies, with a variety of backgrounds. He described it as open and accepting, with clear expectations of behavior.

Crew members remained fully clothed at all times, and participation was optional. Strict rules were enforced, including bans on photography of other guests and limited phone use in public areas.

Guests were required to use towels when sitting, and hygiene supplies were readily available. Certain areas, such as dining spaces, required clothing, and many passengers chose to dress in the evenings.

Shoes were generally required around the ship, and basic cruise etiquette still applied throughout the trip. The structure helped maintain a sense of normality despite the clothing-optional setting.

In the end, the traveler enjoyed the novelty and freedom of the experience but felt it was something he only needed to try once, rather than repeat.
