Country singer Cody Johnson shared an emotional moment with a little girl who was celebrating a successful bone marrow transplant in the crowd of his concert.
Cody was performing in Anaheim, California when he spotted the tiny fan near the stage. She was sitting on someone’s shoulders to get a better view, and she was carrying a sign that read, “I survived my bone marrow transplant to see CoJo. Your biggest fan.”
When Cody saw the sign, he paused his set to read it aloud. He then went out and gave her a long hug, and the two shared some words before he got back on stage. Several fans caught the moment on camera and posted it on social media. You can watch it below.
Before addressing the crowd again, Cody Johnson wiped tears from his eyes. He collected himself a little more and said, “Y’all are going to have to give me a minute.”
Cody went on to dedicate his award-winning single Til You Can’t to the little girl. But before he jumped into the lyrics, he looked back at his brave fan and said, “You don’t ever give up, you understand? Don’t ever give up. Keep fighting strong.”
Following the show, another fan sought out the girl and gave her his cowboy hat, which was already signed by Cody Johnson.
We’re so happy that the little girl was able to have such a memorable and special concert experience, and we hope she listens to Cody’s words and never gives up.
